Harris Scarfe gets a new look

Intrigued to see more, I headed to the Spring / Summer launch of Harris Scarfes new Mediterranean Escape this morning.
Cupcakes and coffee were on the agenda as models posed in this seasons new looks.
Inspired by Sofia Lauren and Bridgette Bardot, the range was a modern
yet classic take on Capri theme.
Harris Scarfe is not usually the first on my list for a fashion fix, but by the looks of things, the store and its fashion offering, is getting a chic new makeover.
HS is definitely changing.
The fashion is on-trend, affordable and and really reasonably priced.
In size 8 -18 and priced from $19.95 - $79.95, whoever said it's too expensive to look good hasn't looked hard enough.
Under the creative direction of Chris Kontos and team, I hear that the new Harris Scarfes in set to go global.
Not bad for a South Australian icon.

Dinner with Matt

An invitation to have an intimate dinner with one of Australia's best chefs, Matt Moran landed on my desk this week.
How could I resist a chance to chat with the man responsible for some of Australia's best bars and restaurants.
Here to promote the new 'T-Qual tick', a symbol that identifies quality tourism businesses and operators in Australia. I met him at local T-Qual certified restaurant Celsius on Gouger street.
A table set for five and a five course menu set the scene for a great night.
Local wine flowed and conversation about South Australia's amazing food and wine industry
dominated conversation.
Matt also shared some secrets about the Masterchef experience.
We asked if the contestants look at recipes during their 'cook offs' the answer was a definite no.
"The contestants are real foodies and genuinely know the recipes off by heart."
So what did Matt get up to on his quick visit?
He started his day at chocolate lovers heaven, Haighs, lunch at Mapo on Gouger, wine tasting at Sinclair's Gully Wines and then dinner with us at Celsius.

My month in pictures

I love pictures.
They can say more than a thousand words. They evoke thoughts, memories and feelings.
I am a photographer by trade and have made my way in the world by capturing
stolen moments.
Last month as we worked towards getting the new issue ready for print,
 I decided to record snippets of our journey in pictures.

Clear skies and a full, white moon at dusk

My weapon of choice and comfortable shoes

Australian Fashion Labels

Last night I got a sneak peek at the new Australian Fashion Labels collections.
Quietly working away on an amazing fashion empire this local South Australian business is conquering the world one celebrity at a time.
Boasting three labels - Cameo, Finders Keepers and Keep Sake
 they design for a stylish, 'on trend' girl who wants quick,
great priced, street fashion that can be worn anywhere, anytime.
Turning over 12 collections a year
and dressing the likes of Kim and Kourtney Kardashian you might have to rush in
to get your hands on the new collection.
Making a shopping list for my winter wardrobe, my fashion editor and I picked our favourites pieces from the collection.
Check out some of the range in store at Kaviar Boutique
5 Nile Street Glenelg

Zara Adelaide store opening

Finally it has arrived! The 1700 square foot, two level shopping mecca took me on a European
vacation this morning without a trip to the airport!
At 8am we were treated to a VIP media tour to give you guys the low down
on the range and the Burnside store. We were greeted by gorgeous well dressed Spanish men bestowing gifts! A great leather Zara tote became my gift and my shopping bag as I was overwhelmed with the choice and quality on offer. With a good look around, a few trips to the fitting room and a touch and feel of fabrics and textures, I must say I was impressed. The thing that surprised me most was the price point in relation to the quality. Great fabrics, classic pieces, looks for all tastes
......and did I mention that Adelaide gets the 2012 summer range before Europe?

 THE LOW DOWN ON THE RANGE
Zara Woman Great classic timeless pieces with splashes of key trends. The pieces are also merchandised in looks to save you time trying to work out what shoes and handbags go with what.
Zara Woman Collection Exclusive designs and pieces only available in 1500 select stores around the world, Adelaide being one of them ... Yay!
Zara TRF (Upstairs) Aimed at a fashion forward youth, a little younger with key seasonal pieces
Zara Basics Tees & tanks, great quality from as little as $14.95
Zara Man - Gorgeous clean and well made. Modern and
classic options. I am loving the suits and slim fit shirts.
The linen pieces and super fine Italian shirting are to die for too.
Zara Kids Cute fashion forward "mini me's" - great shoes - denim and accessories for kids.

So how does the Women's SIZING measure up?
S = size 6
M = size 8-10
L = size 12-14
XL = size 14 -16
XXL = size 16 & up
The range is cut on the small side so be prepared to go up a size or two depending on the garment.

There is something for everyone, from newborns to the fashionably "mature."
So..... is it worth the trip? Yes!.... Enjoy x
Love these!!!
The nautical wall
Great neutral collection, chambray, white, with hits of saffron
Little girls mini skinnies with dots!
